From Aries to Pisces - The 12 Houses of Astrology

November 02, 2020
The houses of astrology play a huge role in character traits and personality.

Zodiac signs, or houses, can give serious insight into someone's personality. Astrological houses define the precise area in your life your horoscope refers to, determining places, people, and situations you come across throughout your life. Each house comes with its own set of traits, too, so you can look to your horoscope for guidance.

1st House: Ruled by Aries (March 21 - April 19)

Ambitious, bold Aries loves being number one, so it's no wonder they come first. These folks are known for diving into challenges. Famous Aries include Lady Gaga and Chance the Rapper.

2nd House: Ruled by Taurus (April 20 - May 20)

Taureans love relaxing in soothing environments. This earth sign enjoys stability, and Taureans can be loyal but also possessive. Adele and George Clooney are two very famous Taureans!

3rd House: Ruled by Gemini (May 21 - June 20)

The symbol of celestial twins perfectly sums Geminis up. This sign loves socializing and sharing experiences. In fact, they usually want to clone themselves just to have time for all their interests. It's no wonder there's a big list of Gemini celebrities, including Marilyn Monroe and Kanye West.

4th House: Ruled by Cancer (June 21 - July 22)

Cancers easily exist in material and emotional realms. Highly intuitive, Cancers can tap into their psychic abilities and pick up on the energy in a room. People with this sign also value tradition and family. Ariana Grande and Chris Pratt are two famous Cancers.

5th House: Ruled by Leo (July 23 - August 22)

Fiery Leos love embracing the royal status. Leos are comfortable — actually, more than comfortable! — in the spotlight. They're theatrical and passionate, so you're probably not surprised to hear that Madonna is a Leo. Barack Obama's a famous Leo, too.

6th House: Ruled by Virgo (August 23 - September 22)

Systematic and oh-so-logical, Virgos are perfectionists who don't mind consistent practice. They're curious and organized, and they're born collaborators. Famous Virgos include Kobe Bryant and Beyoncé.

7th House: Ruled by Libra (September 23 - October 22)

The Libra symbol of scales tells you what you need to know about this sign. Libras strive for harmony and balance, and they're obsessed with achieving equilibrium. Famous Libras include Serena Williams and Donald Glover.

8th House: Ruled by Scorpio (October 23 - November 21)

Then we have Scorpio, those oft-misunderstood folks who can confuse people with their intensity. With an unshakable focus and immense passion, Scorpios get things done. Hillary Clinton and Leonardo DiCaprio are two examples.

9th House: Ruled by Sagittarius (November 22 - December 21)

Sagittarians are on a perpetual quest for knowledge. They have a reputation as philosophers, but they also love exploring. Nikki Minaj and Brad Pitt are famous Sagittarians.

10th House: Ruled by Capricorn (December 22 - January 19)

Capricorns can navigate both the emotional and material realms. They're known for ambition and keen intelligence, but they also crave stability. Famous Capricorns include Michelle Obama and LeBron James.

11th House: Ruled by Aquarius (January 20 - February 18)

Quirky and a bit eccentric, Aquarians are the humanitarians of the zodiac. These folks make good friends, and though they sometimes (okay, often) go about things in an unorthodox way, their methods are usually surprisingly effective. Two famous ones? Alicia Keys and The Weeknd.

12th House: Ruled by Pisces (February 19 - March 20)

Finally, there's Pisces, constantly caught between fantasy and reality. They're the dreamers of the zodiac, living life to a great extent inside of their minds. Rihanna and Justin Bieber are two famous Pisces.
