Self-Doubt can be a real thief of joy... don't let it!

We know it all too well: that anxious feeling that you’re “not good enough” or that you are a failure and disliked by those around you.

We all experience doubt, even the most confident people do. It’s not about abolishing doubt. It’s about managing it so that it doesn’t derail you. Negative ways of thinking come from our own perceptions of ourselves and from outside influences. Regardless, doubt can be debilitating and can lead to feelings of anger, disappointment, sadness, and fear. Those feelings can lead to behavior that causes more regret and sadness. Don’t let the negativity win! Keep on reading for some tips on how to silence your doubt for good.

Ground Yourself

Take a moment for self-awareness and take notice of your thoughts and feelings. When you feel uncertain, it may be because you are not rooted in the reality of where you actually are. Be present. Consider practicing some grounding exercises such as the 5-4-3-2-1 method. Notice five things you hear, four things you see, three things you can touch, two things you can smell, and one thing you can taste.

You Are Not Alone

When you feel anxious and doubtful, consider connecting with a trusted person such as a friend, psychic, or counselor who can help you see things more clearly and give you feedback and support to overcome any uncertainties that arise. It’s also important to remember that everyone makes mistakes. All people are fallible. Don’t beat yourself up or others about it– nobody is perfect.

Journal

Release your fear by journaling all your thoughts and worries. It can be helpful to write things down instead of trapping your thoughts in your head. Consider following some journal prompts, or do a brain dump -a brain dump is when you write down everything you are thinking.

Journaling can also help you to gain clarity. Perhaps make a list of pros and cons or write down your thoughts about a current situation giving you doubt. If you’ve been writing in a journal for a while, you can refer back to times where you overcame your obstacles. This positive action can give you a mental boost.

Be Vulnerable

Be vulnerable and learn to trust your inner wisdom. It may be scary, but overcoming your doubt and uncertainty will help you feel more confident in yourself and help build resilience. Be vulnerable and let people in when they ask, “are you okay?” Not everyone is worthy of your story, so work with a Psychic and your intention to gauge who is and who isn’t.

Another way to be vulnerable is to invest in a new activity that promotes inner growth and skill-building. This can boost your confidence and help you to feel more secure in your decisions.

Take Action

Potentially the best way to get rid of doubt is to trust your gut, take action, and go after your dreams and goals! It might be scary, but it will be well worth it. Look to the future and set goals for yourself that you know you can accomplish. Doubting yourself can hold you back from achieving your heart’s desires. It’s important to understand that you can push past your insecurities and doubt and replace them with seeds of confidence and self-love.

Acceptance and Surrender

Sometimes, the more you try to fix something, the harder it becomes. Accepting your doubt and surrendering can help you release and invite solutions in. You can’t fix something with the same energy that created it. So, surrender, have gratitude, and you’ll likely have AHA! moments of what to do next to conquer doubt.

If you need support overcoming feelings of doubt or insecurity, talk to me or another PathForward Psychic about it. We’ll help you address the root cause of your emotions and provide actions and next steps for conquering negativity.
