2023 is not only the year that you have been waiting for but have spent much of 2022 preparing for. With that preparation banked you are ready to face the future and moving into 2023 really is moving into a new era while also making this a year for major new beginnings, growth, expansion and for sowing seeds for the future, with most of it happening in the first five months of the year. It was last May that Jupiter returned to Aries for what should have been the start of a new 12 year Jupiter cycle of expansion and while that was the case, this was put on hold just a few months later when the planet of luck and expansion not only turned retrograde but retrograded all the way back out again. However, that time wasn’t wasted, with a chance to plant seeds and lay down tracks for the future but also to review what you want that future to look like.
As you move into 2023 Jupiter has only been back for 11 days and rather than pick up from where he left off, this is a chance for a complete restart and until leaving on 17th May. This is all about not only embracing the future head on but the future of your choosing, that you get to design. Jupiter’s final months in Aries will overlap your birthday month and the start of your birthday month and new solar year, giving this the most empowered start in over a decade. From Venus’ return on 20th February to the Sun’s departure on 20th April, you will have support to embrace the major new beginnings that moving into a new 12 year Jupiter cycle of expansion is all about. However, Jupiter is always somewhere and on 17th May he will return to your income sector to begin what could be your biggest year for income growth and expansion in over a decade.
This coincides with the beginning of Pluto’s transition out of your career sector and the culmination of everything that the planet of change and revolution has been working towards since he returned in 2008. Pluto will leave on 24th March but will retrograde back in on 11th June, just a few weeks after Jupiter returns to your income sector. Saturn is also on the move, with his return to Pisces on 8th March beginning the three year wind down of your current three decade long Saturn cycle, which began back in 1996. This year also has some light and even romantic relief with Venus, the planet of love returning for what is normally a 24 day visit to a fun, playful, romantic and creatively charged part of your chart on 6th June, but not leaving until 9th October. Returning on 21st May, Mars will be there when Venus begins her longest visit in our lifetime, with the planets of love and passion getting this off to the perfect start.
Until they leave your two money houses on 18th July, the lunar nodes will continue to police a balance between money coming in and money going out, but after the Sun left your financial sector in November 2022, the only planetary activity has been in your income sector and that will remain the case for the majority of the year. It was having the North Node in your income and the South Node in your financial sector, the point in the heavens where the Earth’s orbit around the Sun is intersected by the Moon’s orbit around the Earth that turned New and Full Moons last year into eclipses and there are still two more before this runs its course. The first will be an eclipsing Full Moon in your financial sector on 6th May and the last will be an eclipsing Full Moon in your income sector on 29th October, at what will be the least active point in the year for each.
Especially significant will be a New Moon in your income sector on 20th May, in the heart of not just the most active months of the year on the income front but with stunning timing. A New Moon can create a lot of forward momentum, making this a good time for new beginnings, while acting as a trigger for everything building behind the scenes. Venus will kick off what can be the most lucrative weeks of any year when she moves through your income sector from 17th March to 11th April. This is over a month before the New Moon on 20th May but as the planet of money, Venus is the perfect planet to get the ball rolling. With Mercury here from 4th April to 12th June and the Sun from 20th April to 21st May, they will keep the momentum going.
However, what makes the timing of the New Moon on 20th May significant, something that in itself can act as a trigger, is that it falls just three days after Jupiter, the planet of luck and expansion returns to your income sector on 17th May to begin the most potentially lucrative year in over a decade. Jupiter is here until 26th May 2024 and throughout that time will work with Uranus, the planet of surprise, synchronicity and the unexpected for the first time here in our lifetime. This could lead to some unexpected and lucky breakthroughs over the next 12 months. Meanwhile, while things aren’t as active on the other side of the financial fence, Mars will give money matters a boost when he returns to your financial sector on 12th October for the first time in two years. This begins a period of planetary activity that will run through to 30th December with Venus, the planet of money the perfect planet to bring to an end this year’s focus on your financial situation and money matters.
To begin with, things are fairly quiet on both the romantic and relationship fronts, as you would expect at this time of year. With the Sun and faster planets not returning to your romantic sector until the second half of each year, it is the Moon that can keep the seat warm. The most important of those visits will be the one that will create a Full Moon in your romantic sector on 6th February, something that will give the spirit of romance an early boost. Instead, the focus is more on your relationships, with Mars in your relationship sector for over four months by the time you move into the New Year. It is a retrograde phase that has kept Mars here long beyond his typical six week stay. However, what you can’t see as you move into the new year is just how romantically charged 2003 is set to become.
While the Sun’s return to your romantic sector on 23rd July will turn the solar spotlight onto matters of the heart and all things romantic at this time each year, it is two months earlier that Mars will return on 21st May with Venus, the planet of love returning just weeks later, on 6th June for what is normally a 24 day visit. As well as bringing the planets of love and passion together, this is not just Mars’ first visit in two years but the start of Venus’ longest visit to your romantic sector in our lifetime. With Mars in your romantic sector until 11th July but Venus not leaving until 9th October, the middle months of the year will not only be the most romantically charged of 2023 but of anything seen before.
Meanwhile, apart from the Moon’s monthly visits and a Full Moon in your relationship sector on 6th April, things are fairly quiet on the relationship front. That will change when the South Node returns on 18th July, when along with its partner the North Node it will police a balance between your personal and relationship needs for the next 18 months. This will also turn a New Moon on 15th October into a solar eclipse, with the promise of new beginnings. This is in the heart of all this year’s planetary activity on the relationship front, which will run from Mars’ return on 28th August to Venus’ departure on 5th December.
Change is in the air but also the potential to reach a peak that you may have been striving to reach for years now. After returning to your career sector in 2008 Pluto, the planet of change and revolution is on the move and while he won’t completely leave your career sector until November 2024, he begins to transition out when he leaves on 24th March. Until then, there is more than enough support to not only get this new professional year up to speed but Pluto’s final months and the final laps of a journey that began over 14 years ago. Because the Sun will always spend the last 10 days and the first three weeks of every year in your career sector, you will always start the year with the solar spotlight on your career and professional situation, matters and options. You also begin the year with not only Pluto but Mercury and Venus here, putting heart and mind on the same page from the start.
With Venus not only leaving on 3rd January but then not returning until 2024, this also makes it important to put your heart and what it is telling you first, even if that means starting the year with a wish list rather than a list of New Year’s resolutions. With Mercury in retrograde motion until 19th January and then not leaving until 11th February, you have plenty of time to turn that wish list into a game plan and resolutions and especially with Pluto calling for change before he leaves. With the Sun leaving on 20th January, Mercury will stay on to help you work with Pluto to explore your options. It is Pluto’s departure on 24th March that will leave your career sector empty for the first time in over 14 years and with it a chance to let things settle and play out before he retrogrades back on 11th June.
Meanwhile, while there is no major planetary activity on the job front to keep things active all year, things will kick off earlier than expected when for the first time in two years Mars returns to your work sector on 11th July. With the Sun not returning until 23rd August, the point in every year when the solar spotlight shifts onto your work situation, job matters and options, this gives the warrior planet of the cosmos plenty of time to fire things up and until leaving on 28th August, create some of the most active, busiest but also the most potentially successful weeks of the year on the job front. Mercury will return for what should be a two week opportunity to work smarter, get your head in the game, ideas on the table and the communication lines open but instead, a retrograde turn will keep him here from 29th July to 5th October. Meanwhile, held back by a retrograde phase, Venus will make a standalone visit from 9th October to 8th November, when things are likely to come to you more easily.
