As you move into the New Year there is a much bigger opportunity for a fresh start than you might appreciate at the time. For having turned direct on New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day is Jupiter, the planet of luck and expansion’s first full day in direct motion and the start of the final chapter of his 12-month visit to Taurus and of the foundation year of this new 12-year Jupiter cycle of expansion. Jupiter will remain at a standstill for several weeks, and with Uranus, in Taurus since 2019, not turning direct until 27th January, this buys you time to get your bearings as you prepare to move into not just the most defining months of this year, but months that could have a bearing on the rest of this 12 year Jupiter cycle.
Jupiter won’t leave Taurus until 26th May, five days after your birthday month ends. With Jupiter in Taurus throughout your birthday month, from 20th April to 21st May, and with Venus returning from 28th April to 24th May and Mercury from 16th May to 3rd June, they will return to ensure you have everything needed to invest in the future and the journey ahead. Mars will move through from 9th June to 21st July, returning after Jupiter leaves to capitalize on the momentum this has created and with a chance to put your plans for the future into action. As the planets one by one leave Taurus, it will be to return to your income sector, arriving ahead of Jupiter and, in Mercury and Mars’ case, after he returns but in the early days and weeks of the start of your biggest year for income growth and expansion in over a decade.
This puts a lot more significance on events back in January and in particular Pluto’s return to your career sector on 21st January. Pluto returned in March 2023, but less than three months later the planet of change and revolution retrograded back out again. This time, while Pluto will leave again from 2nd September to 20th November, this time it is only for 11 weeks and as once he returns, he is here now until 2044 and with Jupiter not leaving your income sector until June 2025, they will work in tandem. With the South Node spending the whole of 2024 in your work sector, something that will create an eclipsing Full Moon here on 25th March and an eclipsing New Moon on 3rd October, this will make 2024 a big year across the income, work, and career fronts. Even if this isn’t advertised on the box from the start.
This financial year is likely to be deceiving, in that what it suggests on the box is not what you will ultimately get and, instead, something so much better. What it says on the box from the start is that it is all about your financial situation and money matters, something that is a hangover from your 2023 financial year but in a way that can get the new financial year off to a powerful start. The Sun will always leave your financial sector, the side of the financial fence where it is more about what you do with and how you manage the money you have just before Christmas. However, making his first visit in two years Mars is still here and until leaving on 5th January, he is on a mission to see you take your financial power back by firing up your financial passions and fighting spirit.
Venus, who only returned on 30th December 2023 will focus on felling your financial confidence and updating your wish list until she leaves on 23rd January, while until leaving on 14th January Mercury is giving you the smart head for money needed to get your head in the game and think on your feet. This will make the early weeks of the year a chance to get on top of money matters from the start. However, this will end all planetary activity here and with no planetary activity in your income sector either, this is more the money gods giving things a push start. Your financial sector will remain empty until later in the year, until Venus returns on 18th October to get things moving again.
However, it is on the income side of the financial fence that this year is going to take you by surprise. It begins with the Sun’s return to your income sector on 21st May, something that at this time each year will always turn the solar spotlight onto your income situation, matters, and options. While Venus’ return on 24th May will kick off what could be the most lucrative weeks of any year, it is just two days later that everything will change. On 26th May Jupiter will return to your income sector to begin your biggest 12 months for income growth and expansion in over a decade and with Venus here until 17th June, this will give the planets of money and luck a chance to join forces to get this off to an empowered start. Jupiter is here until June 2025, and it comes just as Pluto is settling into his 20-year visit to your career sector.
While it is not usually until the second half of the year that you will see any planetary activity on the romantic or relationship fronts, on both fronts, there is more than enough to keep the love and relationship gods busy in the first half of the year. There is no planetary activity in your relationship sector until Venus returns on 23rd September, but as last year’s visit only ended on 30th December 2023 and with a Full Moon here on 24th April, this and the Moon’s monthly visits will be enough to keep you on track and connected. It is on the romantic front that you have an unexpected secret weapon and something that will maintain an unbroken thread between the planetary here last year and again this year.
That secret weapon is the asteroid Juno, who in October 2023 returned to your romantic sector just a week after that after being held back by a retrograde phase Venus made a belated return. As Venus is the planet of love and Juno is the queen of commitment, this brought the resolve to make up for lost time. However, while Venus left a month later Juno didn’t and as you move into 2024, she is not only still here but a retrograde turn on 13th January will not only keep her here until 10th August, but she will still be here when Venus and the rest of the annual planets return. With Mercury turning on 26th July and Venus on 5th August, they will take over from Juno’s long watch over romantic matters.
Mercury will normally spend 14 to 15 days here giving your heart a voice and putting heart and mind on the same page, but his own retrograde turn means that while he will return to your romantic sector on 26th July he won’t leave until 26th September, when continuous planetary activity on the romantic front since the middle of 2023 finally runs its course. By then things will be moving on the relationship front, with Venus kicking off all planetary activity in your relationship sector for the year on 23rd September. Once again Juno will prove to be a stayer, for while the Sun’s departure on 22nd November should end all planetary activity on the relationship front, with Juno here from 3rd November 2024 to 20th February 2025, she will keep the momentum and a sense of commitment going.
While the year begins with your two professional houses empty, there is reason for confidence on both the job and career fronts, with the promise of major new beginnings. There has been no planetary activity on the job front since Venus left in December but held back by a retrograde phase this was late in the year and she had returned after Mars had made his first visit in two years, and the Sun and Mercury had moved through. Planetary activity on the job front may have run its course, but there will be plenty of momentum and everything needed to keep things on track until the next round of planetary activity in your work sector begins in August. It is on the career front, and when it comes to your overall path forward, things are about to change in a major way.
There has been no planetary activity in your career sector since Pluto left in June 2023, less than three months after the planet of change and revolution returned for the first time in our lifetime. This was a chance to dip your toe in the water and get a feel for Pluto’s influence, for when he settles in for good, which he will by the end of this year, he will be here until 2044. Starting the year with no planetary activity in either of your two professional houses is a chance to cement where things stand on the job front and prepare for the massive wave approaching on the career front. It begins with a bang on 21st January, when within the space of just a few hours, the Sun and Pluto will both return. The Sun is only here for a month, but apart from leaving for 11 weeks from 2nd September to 20th November, Pluto is here for the next two decades and as the planet of change and revolution, he brings with him the promise of major change.
However, while Pluto is playing a long game, the rest of the planets returning over the following weeks will be on a mission to get this professional year up to speed. This includes the Sun, who is here until 19th February; Mercury, who will return from 5th February to 23rd February; Mars from 13th February to 23rd March; and Venus from 17th February to 12th March. This is their first encounter with Pluto here in our lifetime, but with support in his first two months to get things off to an empowered start. Meanwhile, while Mars won’t return to your work sector this year, the Sun, Mercury, and Venus will work as a team to make the period from 10th August to 3rd November the most important of the year on the job front and when there is likely to be the most action.
