While to begin with it might feel like nothing has changed and if anything, you are more anchored to the past than the future, all that is about to change. For while you begin the year with Uranus not only still in retrograde motion in Taurus, which he has been since the middle of 2022 but with Jupiter having just returned to a nostalgic and reflective part of your chart 11 days earlier, to resume the wind down of your current 12 year Jupiter cycle of expansion. Yet the fact that you are more focused on closing old doors means that this is in preparation for new doors to open. Uranus’ direct turn on 23rd January will be a chance to start looking to the future while still holding back. The fact that Jupiter has already spent five months in a nostalgic and reflective part of your chart last year means that he won’t need to spend as much time here this time, returning to Taurus on 17th May to begin a new 12 year Jupiter cycle of expansion.
Jupiter will spend from 17th May 2023 to 26th May 2024 in Taurus, making this not just a year for major new beginnings but your biggest year for growth, expansion and major new beginnings in over a decade. If you have to spend some time closing old doors first, this will leave you more free to move on and not just embrace the future but a future that you get to design. While Jupiter will return during your birthday month, getting your new solar year off to a powerful start, Venus’ return to Taurus from 17th March to 11th April will be a chance to first spend time constructing your desires and expectations for the future. This is also an important year for home, family and/or property matters, with Mars not only returning to your home and family sector on 21st May for his first visit in two years, but it is while he is here that Venus will return on 6th June to begin her longest visit in our lifetime.
Venus will keep the focus on things close to home from 6th June to 9th October, with a retrograde turn in July keeping her here during the middle months of the year. This is also a big year professionally, with Saturn leaving your career sector on 8th March only to have Pluto, the planet of change and revolution begin to transition in just a few weeks later, for the first time in our lifetime. As with all the outer planets, this is not a sudden shift, with Pluto returning on 24th March but then retrograding back out again on 11th June. This is preparation for his return in 2024, where he will then stay for the next 20 years, building on from what Saturn has been laying down the foundations for since his return in 2020. It is then that Saturn will return to begin a three year visit to your sector of friendship, teamwork and networking.
Starting the year with Mars in your income sector is a massive advantage and especially since the planet of passion and the warrior planet of the cosmos returned for what should have been a six week visit in August 2022. Normally Mars will spend six weeks fueling a drive to fight for what you deserve but instead, a retrograde turn has not only kept him here but by the time he eventually leaves on 26th March he will wrap up his longest visit in eight decades. Mars is still in retrograde motion as we move into the New Year so things might feel stalled, but this is giving you a chance to ensure no stone has been left unturned or there is no untapped income potential from the past. Mars’ direct turn on 13th January will give income matters and the warrior planet of the cosmos the green light, but it will take him several weeks to get up to full speed.
This is buying you time to work with Mars and not leaving until 26th March to get the year off to a lucrative start but also to forge paths and break through barriers that the planets following in his wake can help you exploit. This also puts Mars here during Saturn’s final months in your career sector before leaving on 8th March and during January and February, when there is a lot of planetary support being invested into getting this professional year off the ground. When Mars leaves this will leave your income sector empty for the first time in seven months, though not for long, with Venus returning less than two weeks later, on 11th April. Venus is racing through the heavens and will arrive well ahead of schedule, but in time to capitalize on what Mars has already spent seven months working on.
Venus is in your income sector from 11th April to 8th May and while these can be the most lucrative weeks of any year, not with Mars having just spent seven months setting things up for her. It is not until Mercury leaves on 27th June, five days after the Sun that you will finish exploiting Mars’ legacy, by which time Pluto will have returned to your career sector on 24th March to begin his first visit in our lifetime. Meanwhile, while there is less planetary activity on the other side of the financial fence, where the focus is more on what you do with and how you manage the money you have, as you move into 2023 it had been less than two weeks since the Sun wrapped up last year’s visit. The focus will shift to your financial situation and money matters when from 10th November 2023 to 23rd January 2024 the Sun, Mercury, Venus and Mars will all move through your financial sector.
Apart from the lunar nodes continuing to police a balance between your personal and relationship needs until 18th July, there is no planetary activity on the romantic or relationship fronts as you move into 2023, as you would expect at this time of year. However, there is still enough happening in the first half of the year, a time when there is rarely any planetary activity on the romantic and relationship fronts to work with. The first is a romantically charged Full Moon on 8th March. Always falling halfway between the Sun’s last visit to your romantic sector and the next, this can give the spirit of romance a boost. What makes the timing auspicious is that it is just days later that Venus, the planet of love will make an early return to Taurus from 17th March to 11th April.
It is during this time that you can update your romantic and relationship desires and expectations for the coming year, creating a roadmap for your heart to follow. The next significant event will be an eclipsing Full Moon in your relationship sector on 6th May, the last before the South Node leaves in July. This will be a last push by the lunar nodes to flush out any balance issues between your personal and relationship needs. Fortunately, with Mars in your communication sector from 26th March to 21st May and Venus from 8th May to 6th June, the planets of love and passion have you covered. The first planetary activity on the romantic front for the year begins with Mars’ return to your romantic sector on 11th July, with the planet of passion and the warrior planet of the cosmos making his first visit in two years.
While Mars is only here until 28th August, with Mercury here from 29th July to 5th October and the Sun from 23rd September, they will continue what he started. However, the most romantically charged weeks of 2023 will be when Venus, the planet of love moves through from 9th October to 8th November. It is while Venus is here that the first planetary activity on the relationship front of 2023 will begin when Mars once again gets the ball rolling when he returns to your relationship sector on 12th October. This begins what will be an unbroken chain of planetary activity and support for your relationships, running through to Venus’ departure on 30th December.
First impressions as you move into this new professional year will suggest that it is business as usual and a continuation of last year and for a few days that will be the case. For you, business as usual means that you still have Saturn, the hard taskmaster of the cosmos in your career sector and on his own he is calling for restraint, discipline and always showing up. Since returning in 2020, Saturn has been the driving force on the professional front, taking you through some form of professional boot camp but that is about to change. The first sign of change will come when Venus returns on 3rd January and where Saturn has made you work for everything you have achieved, she will use the laws of attraction to attract things more easily. Until leaving on 27th January Venus will soften some of Saturn’s sharp edges, while working to fuel your professional confidence, attract opportunities and steer things in a lucrative direction.
The Sun’s return from 20th January to 19th February is something that will always shine the solar spotlight on your career and professional situation, matters and options at this time of year, with Mercury returning from 12th February to 3rd March with a chance to work smarter, get your head in the game, ideas on the table and the communication lines open. As each planet moves through, they will meet up with Saturn, as they did the last two years as well and when they do, they will help you capitalize on what you have worked on throughout 2021 and 2022 but also, for the last time for another three decades, with the hard taskmaster of the cosmos finally leaving on 8th March. This will leave your career sector empty for the first time since 2020 but not for long.
It is just 16 days later that Pluto, the planet of change and revolution will return to your career sector for the first time in our lifetime, something that he will ease into. For now, Pluto is only here for a few months, returning on 24th March but then retrograding back out on 11th June, giving you a taste of the changes you might want to make when he returns in January 2024 to spend the next 20 years here. Meanwhile, while there is less planetary activity on the job front this year, Mars will kick things off with a bang when he returns to your work sector for the first time in two years on 28th August. Until leaving on 12th October, by which time the Sun and Mercury will be here, Mars will fire things up in what could be the busiest, most active and driven weeks of the year on the job front. Once the Sun leaves on 24th October there will be a lull, with Venus returning to bring things home on the job front from 8th November to 5th December.
